The Institute for Childhood Preparedness, Region II Head Start Association, New Jersey Head Start Association, and the National Environmental Health Association have partnered to bring you the webinar, Understanding Asthma and Our Indoor Environment. As part of this partnership, this webinar is being brought to you for free. Do not miss out on the chance to learn about this important issue that affects many Americans.
Childhood asthma is a serious medical condition affecting over 8% of American kids, making it the single most common chronic disease among our youth. Episodes can be scary events, and are often triggered by environmental factors in homes, day care facilities and schools. Learn about the most common triggers, and common sense approaches to prevention by a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist, Dr. David Dyjack.
David T. Dyjack, Dr.PH, CIH is Chief Executive Officer of the 7000+member National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), a position he has held since May 2015. Under his leadership NEHA has increased its membership by 55% and grown staff from 28 to over 60 full-time employees. Dr. Dyjack is Principal Investigator on three environmental health workforce capacity building grants, one from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and two from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. These awards represent almost $60 million intended to increase capacity of the environmental health profession in federal, state, territorial, local and tribal environmental health programs. Throughout his 35-year public health career Dyjack has been dean of an accredited school of public health, health director for an international non-governmental organization, and a consultant to private sector organizations such as Exxon, Saudi Aramco, and Ford Motor Company.
